Research confirms regular contact with family and friends, whilst in hospital, promotes recovery in mental health related illness.
Acute psychiatric admitting wards are based outside Clydesdale and a considerable distance from remote communities where many patient's family and friends live.
Havoc's aim is to promote and provide an innovative visiting service - exclusive to Clydesdale - for people who suffer mental ill health and require hospital admission.

This initiative project consists of having facilities for patients and their family, friends and carers to see and hear each other without meeting in hospital.
A computer and web cam have been installed within admitting psychiatric wards in Wishaw General Hospital.
Havoc has negotiated with community venues in Clydesdale and purchased time and space for this project. Within these venues duplicate equipment is made available.
Family, friends and carers having difficulty in getting to hospital go along to the community venue nearest to their home and will be able to virtually visit from a distance.

We hope it's success will lead to us being able to roll out this concept to a much wider area in the near future. The goal is to accelerate patient recovery and reduce the stress & financial hardship that traveling long distances can incur.
